Rockford "Rocky" Shanks Obituary (1950

Rockford “Rocky” Shanks, age 74 of Blair, passed away December 7, 2024, at Methodist Hospital in Omaha. Private family services will be held at a later date. Burial will be held at his family cemetery in Missouri. Rocky was born on April 30, 1950, the son of Richard and Juanita Shanks. He was raised in Belle, Missouri and lived in Germany and France while his father served in the United States Air Force. He eventually moved to Nebraska when his father was stationed at Offutt Air Force Base. On December 12, 1981, he was united in marriage to Mary Andreasen in Omaha. The couple eventually made their home in Blair. Rocky is survived by his wife Mary, daughters; Anna (Aaron) Christensen and Katie (Troy) McIntosh, grandchildren; Lauren, Ava, Ella, Morgan, and River, and sisters Kelly (Scott) Kuhns and Cynthia Miller, sisters in law Karen Andreasen, Diane Wigg, Jane (Michael) Swain, brother in law Dan Andreasen, along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and mother and brother in law John “Jake” Andreasen.
